Hot Meal
On Monday nights our doors are open to the community to serve a free hot meal to any who may be in need. In Mount Vernon, different churches take turns serving a free meal to the community.
Men’s Bible Study
Every Tuesday men are invited during their lunch hour to come and focus on what is important – their walk with Jesus Christ. This is a free flow discussion on how the Bible and our lives intersect. No materials other than a Bible is necessary. We have plenty on hand if you come without a copy of the Bible. This study meets on Tuesdays at 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Church Kitchen.
BSA Girls #338
First Presbyterian Church sponsors BSA Troop 338 for girls. Scouting has been a part of our church’s ministry since 1938. Troop 338 is relatively new now that the BSA has opened up to the participation of young women. Currently this Troop is meeting off-site and will not be back into the church building until November (… call church for details)
Boy Scouts #339
First Presbyterian Church sponsor BSA Troop 339 for boys. Scouting has been a part of our church’s ministry since 1938. Troop 339 has produced over 100 Eagle Scouts.
Cub Scout Pack #339

Women’s Bible Study
WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY Every Thursday morning from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. women meet to focus in the Bible through guided study and focused discussion. Currently, the study is on HEAVEN: FINDING OUR TRUE HOME, by Douglas Connelly (A LifeGuide Bible Study by InterVarsity Press). Alcoholics Anonymous

LifeWise Academy
LifeWise Mount Vernon teaches Bible-based character education to Mount Vernon public school students during school hours, once a week, during the combined lunch/recess times for elementary school students in 1st-5th grades. Harmony Service
Every so often we combine First and Second Services together so that the whole congregational family worships as one at one service (Hence, HARMONY Service). We weave contemporary and traditional music styles around the theme of the service. This will begin at 10 AM.
Session Meeting
The Presbyterian Church is organized around a board of church elders.
