Autumn Adventures in Music and Ministry:

Now is the time to consider if you sense the Lord leading you to engage in service and ministry through the Chancel Choir or Hand Bell Choir for this coming year. I think you will find these experiences fulfilling, uplifting and an encouragement to your own spiritual walk as well as being a ministry to the Lord's body at First Presbyterian. PRAISE GOD with MUSIC . . . music ministries at First Presbyterian Church include:

Chancel Choir - participates weekly in 11:00 am traditional worship and at special worship services, this volunteer vocal choir is open to all teens and adults who love to sing. Contact Ginny Cameron, 397-5514, for additional information.

Brass Choir - open to all ages and anyone who has the love of playing a musical instrument. This choir plays several times each year in traditional special worship services. Contact Ginny Cameron, 397-5514 for additional information.

Handbell Choir - open to all ages, this choir plays frequently in 11:00 am traditional worship. Contact Ginny Cameron, 397-5514, for additional information.

Worship Team – provides weekly music and video for 8:30am contemporary worship. Teen and adult vocalists and musicians are welcome. Instruments typically include keyboards, electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass and drums. Power Point video provides projected lyrics and special features. Children’s Music and Choir – music and singing are part of weekly Sunday school for grades K-5. The children also perform as a choir occasionally at traditional worship and for special services such as Christmas Eve. Teen and adult song leaders and accompanists are an important part of this ministry. Contact George Stone, 397-8619, for additional information.

The Presbytones – perform sacred and secular music several times each year. This group of teen and adult vocalists and musicians was formed in early 2009 to provide entertainment for a Valentine’s Day dinner to raise funds for the youth Mission trip to Guatemala. They also performed at First Presbyterian’s annual Funcert and at the Farmer’s Market on the square in downtown Mount Vernon. Contact George Stone, 397-8619, for additional information.
