Come to Church

The First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of Mount Vernon’s mission is to grow in the knowledge and love of our Lord Jesus Christ – and to make Him known in our community and the world. If you’re looking for a church in the Knox County area, pop in for a visit – we’re here every Sunday morning. We look forward to welcoming you into our growing body of believers.

Worship With Us This Sunday!

Contemporary Worship: 9 a.m. Sunday in the Sanctuary

At FPC, the Contemporary Worship Service welcomes people to sing with a praise band; be actively involved in reading of scripture lessons; share announcements, prayer requests and God sightings (ways that you have recently experienced God); be inspired by a sermon lesson; make offerings and tithes; and partake in Communion. Children's worship and nursery care for younger children are both available.

Traditional Worship: 11 a.m. Sunday in the Sanctuary

During the Traditional Worship Service at FPC, a liturgist calls the congregation to worship, prays and reads scripture; the congregation and choir sing hymns and anthems; those with news about the church and the church family share announcements; the pastor provides an inspiring sermon lesson; the congregation makes offerings and tithes and on the first of each month Communion is offered.

Have little ones with you? Childcare is available in the Church Nursery from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sundays.
