Prayer Partners Ministry Invites Greater Participation

The Prayer Partners ministry invites any who seek a deeper relationship with God through prayer to meet with the group on Tuesdays at 6 p.m. in Room 205 (Education Wing). The experience combines praise and prayer and allows individuals to press into the Lord for strength and guidance. Prayer requests remain confidential within the group, unless permission to share is granted.

Beyond the Tuesday evening meetings, Prayer Partners have designated teams who pray for each worship service and its participants (i.e., the pastor, worship leaders and the congregants). They also rally when called upon to seek God's intervention in people's lives and the broken world. The group fellowships with a special annual breakfast and a prayer retreat. For information, contact Chuck Waugh ([email protected] or 740-504-2263) or Kelli Highnam ([email protected] or 502-689-3290).

Youth Group Customizing New Space

Painting Party being rescheduled - date to be announced...

The Youth Group is returning to the space it used many years ago - the classroom above the kitchen. The space is being customized so that is will be useful and comfortable for our young people.

Initial plans include:

  • Moving out broken furniture
  • Painting the walls
  • Setting up a library space
  • Adding artwork
  • Bring in comfortable seating

The Youth Group is working on a "word cloud" table using faith-related words and Bible verses (images below). This is the first customization that is being done for the room.

FPC Ministries Share Jesus' Message at July First Friday

FPC Prayer Partners and Youth Group members took the message of God's love into the community at the July 7 First Friday on the Public Square. Together, they shared information about upcoming youth events and meetings, and offered prayer and God's Word (Bibles) to anyone willing to receive. The weather sent the group home a little early, but the opportunity remains to return to future First Fridays and continue the outreach effort. Contact the church office, [email protected] or 740-393-1326, if you would like to be involved.

Also at First Friday last weekend, members of the FPC Praise Band - the "Sonrise Saints" - were scheduled to play at the Buchwald on Main Street. Their worship time was cancelled due to weather.
